Shanah Tovah, to those who celebrate.
May your new year be sweet and plentiful.
Services tonight... well I had mixed feelings. I'm glad I went, because I can't just ignore the high holidays entirely. It felt good to at least go through the motions of some Jewish ritual. On the other hand, it made me really sad to realize that I have no Jewish community that I am a part of. Going to JSU services, there wasn't anyone I knew to sit next to or talk to during dinner. I know, I should make new friends. But it was still sad to be a Junior and end up sitting with a table full of Frosh who were coming to JSU for the first time. Not that the frosh weren't perfectly nice, it's just I wish I could spend the high holidays around people I love, not friendly strangers. It's my own fault for not going to services enough, but that doesn't make it any easier.
