10 Things I Hate About You, Arthur, Darling
10 Things I Hate About You was on tv the other night, and it was a ridiculous regression to high school. I remember, I watched that movie every single week (sometimes more than) with my friends. We had sleepovers every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (and usually Mondays too) and we always watched 10 Things, Anastasia (this was a secret, because we were super cool, okay?) Jawbreakers (which I watched last year and it is SO BAD, but we thought it was amazing because it had swear words) and Can't Hardly Wait.
I thought my life was going to be JUST LIKE the girls in 10 things i hate about you - you know, the ones at the club wearing dark clothes and angry expressions? Who only read feminist literature, and had short hair in a dozen ponytails? But then I joined a sorority, so that didn't happen so much.
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: It is now officially my head canon that JGL's character grew up to be Arthur. Here are some reasons:
1)He was an army brat, aka I'm sure he had some gun experience, and 75% of people with parents in the army also join dreamsharing programs and then become international mind thieves. I just made up that statistic, but I think it sounds about right.
2) He is so stylish! Actually, one of my friend's thought he was cute and we mocked her mercilessly. Little did we know, man. Secret I can only come out with 12 years later: I would have nailed the dorky sidekick so hard. He had a Toyota. Damn, girl.
3) He...speaks...French? Or is that fandom Arthur? To be honest, I can be convinced that a lot of things are canon, because I saw the movie once, six months ago.
4) HE HAS AWESOME PLANS, THAT DON'T REALLY MAKE SENSE. Yes, I'll pay some guy to date the older sister of the girl I like...and I'll get the money by asking the girl I have a crush on's crush to pay him. That can not backfire in the slightest. Fisher is un-militarized.
5) He has a thing for people in hideous clothes:
6) I'm pretty sure Heath Ledger imprinted on bb Arthur that bad boys with hot accents are ace. And that you should sleep with them.
So in summation: there's a lot of things in 10 Things that I still don't understand. Like this:
When Arthur is talking to Heath Ledger and is all:
"She kissed me!!!!! <3<3!!!!!!"
And then Heath is all smirky and 'Where?"
And then Arthur is like "In the ~*~car~*~" and Heath Ledger looks all confused, and then I look all confused, because what? Did Heath expect Arthur to say, 'actually she kissed me on my penis. That is what I mean.' Or...not the car? Would the gym make more sense?
