Dear Diary,
New Years Eve was pretty much a blur of work, alcohol and friends! I didn't get off of work until pretty late so I ran to Mary Widman's apartment and proceeded to drink a bottle of champagne and get ready with her. Luckily for me, she had an ex-boyfriends shirt in her closet so I didn't have to run home and change, thus making it possible for me to get downtown before the ball dropped! Oh how I love my bartender Mary... the cutest bartender ever!!! So after applying makeup, SECRET deodorant, and a little bit of Paris Hilton's scent (yeah... it was one of those nights!), we were ready for 2006!
So my first stop was Jake's for the ball dropping with some friends I ran into on the street. I had planned on going to Studio before midnight, but I guess they bumped the cover to like $15 so I decided to join them and head to Jake's and pay the $10 cover instead. And yes... I did get my kiss (shhh!)
So after Jakes, I ran as fast I could to get to Studio to find the rest of my friends. Wow! Almost EVERYONE was there! However, I was plenty intoxicated by this point, so it was pretty much a blur of lights and drinks and friends. I looked for Caleb and Daniel's party... but they must've left already (Sorry boys! Hope you had a happy B-day Caleb!), so I decided, after kissing too many boys (gay and straight), that it was time to get my drunk ass home! The post party was conducted at my apartment and I was so happy to see so many friends show up! Even some who I didn't know were coming! It was absolutely WONDERFUL! Too bad I didn't last longer... the next thing I knew, I woke up on my futon as Haley and Chris were getting ready to drive home at 6:00AM! DAMN! I must've passed out! Ah well... it was still a FABULOUS night!
THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO MADE THE NIGHT SO SPECIAL! You know who you are! Whether you prepped me with drinks and sushi earlier in the day, to those who dressed and cared for me, to those who drove MANY miles to party in IC, to those who bought all the wonderful drinks, to those who simply showed up to share the experience with me... THANK YOU!
So onto a few Resolutions... (i promise to keep it brief!)
*I WILL be much more careful when I commit to endeavors, projects, committees, etc... so as to not OVERCOMMIT myself.
*I WILL get back into a regular exercise routine and WILL jog much more often!
*I WILL finish my UISG term with as much energy and enthusiasm as when I was elected! I will make the impact I set out to make! I will go out with a BANG!
*I WILL raise my GPA and move my academics to the same priority level as my engagement in university life.
*I WILL make time for those that I love... always!
*I WILL be more fiscally responsible!
*I WILL make a conscious effort to remain true to my values, ideals, and beliefs.
*I WILL find the strength to let go of the unneccessary and sometimes harmful things in my life.
*I WILL make the change I set out to make and stop making excuses when things don't go exactly as planned!
Well... hope everyone is enjoying their first few days of 2006! I look forward to our paths crossing at many intersections this year!!!
All My Love,
Mark*Anthony
