~Chapter Eight~

“Yunho … why are we here together?” JaeJoong repeated his question.

Yunho honestly didn’t know what to say to him then. He’d completely forgotten all about that picture since he was so looking forward to being here alone with JaeJoong. He didn’t realize he had kept that picture out all this time, nor had he intended for him to see it this soon.

“Yunho?”

“I’m sorry … but I can’t keep hiding this from you anymore …”

“Hiding what?” he turned to him and asked.

Yunho sat up in bed and sighed, “Jae … we’re lovers.”

“I’m sorry?” he asked taken aback.

Yunho massaged his temples with his thumb and forefinger, thinking of an easy way to break this down to him.

“You and I are married, and you’re also the mother of my child” he whispered.

“I’m w-what?” he asked confused. “That can’t be Yunho, I was with Yoochun all this time, how can we have been married and conceived a child?”

“You were in an accident after giving birth and lost all you’re memories then. You rejected me and Na Young and ran over here and met Yoochun unexpectedly. I spent years trying to track you down and finally found you again through Yoochun because of a business deal between our companies.”

JaeJoong shook his head vigorously, “t-that can’t be true! You’re making all this up aren’t you?”

Yunho felt his heart drop, “No Jae, I’m not making anything up, I swear” he answered honestly.

“You lied to me” he accused. “Why didn’t you tell me all this when we first met?”

“Because I was afraid you’d take things out of proportion and leave me again” he said trying to level his voice. “Jae, I love you, and I want you to love me again too. I want to start over with you and Na Young together.”

“I don’t understand” he said shaking his head, “Na Young can’t be our baby …”

“But she is” Yunho said, reaching over to clasp his hands over his, “she’s ours.”

JaeJoong looked over the bed to the picture of them again and closed his eyes as a tear suddenly slipped out from them.

“You really don’t remember me? You really don’t remember loving me and giving birth to Na Young at all?” Yunho inquired disheartened.

JaeJoong studied him for a moment, “now that you mention it … there was someone I met long ago who said we were married. He also had a baby with him, but I couldn’t stay with them so I left. Everything just came so suddenly that it was hard to take in. I mean, I wake up one minute and I’m all of a sudden a wife and mother.”

“That was me, it was me who said that to you then!” he yelled excitedly. “Please Jae, think back further, think back seven years ago when we first met and fell in love” Yunho stood up from the bed and said, shaking his shoulders gently.

JaeJoong looked at him, feeling dazed, “Yunho, I can’t remember anything before that.”

He pried Yunho’s hands off and wiped his tears away, feeling slightly afraid.

“How bad was it?” he sniffled.

“… How bad was what?” Yunho asked cautiously.

“The accident? Am I ever going to remember you or my past again?” he inquired, looking up into Yunho’s eyes.

Yunho gazed down on the floor, “I’m not sure.”

That was a lie, and a big one at that. The doctor had told Yunho at the time that in serious cases like these, it would be impossible for JaeJoong to regain his memories once their gone. But he didn’t have the heart to tell JaeJoong that. It was already too much for him when he confessed everything about their past.

“Why …?” JaeJoong questioned irritated.

“Why what?”

“Why did I leave someone like you?”

Yunho smiled as he wiped his tears away, “I’m not sure why myself. When you woke up three years ago, I was so overjoyed because I couldn’t wait for you to spend time with Na Young. A week passed after we bought you home and I woke up to see you weren’t here anymore. I was stupid back then also, because I felt that if I went after you and bought you back, then it would be because I forced you to stay with me. But things have changed now, and I realized I want you to love me and to want to be with me. You’re my wife and my first love Jae, and no matter how you feel about me now I’ll always love you.”

Yunho stood up from the bed and reached his arms out to him. JaeJoong stared at him, thinking for a moment if he should still trust Yunho after everything that’s happened so far. He found everything so hard to take in still, but if he was lying, then how does it explain the picture of them at the wedding together? Yunho’s story did make sense, and JaeJoong believed he was telling him the truth as well. But why then does he still feel so insecure about him?

He eyed his hand before slowly reaching out for it, and Yunho pulled him to his feet and crushed him into his chest. Yunho’s eyes began to sting and his vision became slightly blurry from holding back his tears for so long. JaeJoong buried his face in Yunho’s chest, breathing heavily.

“Yunho?” he murmured.

“Yeah?”

“… Is it wrong for me to still love you even though I hate you right now?”

Yunho chuckled, “That’s ok, because I still love you.”

At his office, Yoochun tried to concentrate back on his work, but his mind kept drifting off to JaeJoong. He was pissed at the fact that JaeJoong went off to see Yunho again today, and this time, he knew for sure he would show no mercy to his beloved boyfriend.

“I’m leaving early” he announced to his other co-workers in the room, “if something comes up, someone contact my secretary immediately and ask him to take care of it.”

After packing his briefcase, he hurriedly stomped off back to the apartment.

“So then … this isn’t our first time?” JaeJoong asked.

“Are you kidding? Everyday and night we were together, you practically begged me jump in bed with you” Yunho whispered huskily in his ear.

JaeJoong’s face flushed from embarrassment, “are you making that up?”

He shook his head, “everything I’m telling you from now, I promise it’s the truth.”

“And … you’re positively and absolutely sure that we’re married?”

Yunho reached into his jeans pocket and took out a small shiny piece of jewelry. “That ring you’re wearing came with the same set as this one. I bought it for you on our wedding day five years ago.”

JaeJoong studied both rings for a moment.

“What about Yoochun?” he mumbled.

“What about him? Yunho questioned in a detested tone.

“Does he know about us?”

“Not exactly.”

“… Then I don’t think we should tell him, at least not yet that is.”

“Why not?” he asked outraged. “The faster we tell him the faster we can be together without having to sneak around all the time.”

“Yoochun’s gonna kill me … literally.”

“What do you mean?”

“Since we’re being honest … there’s something I think I should tell you.”

“What’s up?”

“I never told anyone this before but” he paused, “Yoochun kind of … hits me when I don’t do what he asks.”

“What?!” Yunho yelled. “He abuses you?”

“He found out about me sneaking over here to see you the other day and he …” JaeJoong halted midway when he felt tears stinging the rim of his eyes.

“Damnit Jae, why didn’t you tell me he was doing this to you all this time? And just because of you went out of the house to see me is a ridiculous excuse!”

“I know” he replied, “but I can’t really do anything to stop him.”

“Then I will!”

“Yunho, please don’t” he begged.

“Why not? If I’d know about this a long time ago his butt would’ve been kicked by now.”

“Because regardless if we’re married or not, I consider Yoochun someone very important to me. He took care of me these past couple of years and I’m grateful to him and … I loved him.”

“Then leave him.”

“I can’t just announce that I’m leaving him to be with you because we’re married.”

“Then use Na Young as an excuse.”

“Yunho” he said, shooting him a look, “no, not yet.”

“Don’t tell me you’re going back to him tonight. What if he hurts you again?”

JaeJoong sighed, “As of right now … I don’t have a choice.”

JaeJoong was surprised to see Yoochun already home when he arrived at the apartment. He stopped in his tracks immediately when Yoochun advanced towards him and began to tremble.

“You went to see him again, didn’t you” Yoochun said, more like a statement instead of a question.

JaeJoong nodded slowly, “I’m sorry Yoochun, but -“

Before he could finish, Yoochun gave him one hard slap across the cheek.

“I don’t understand you at all. One minute you say you won’t see him anymore, then you go behind my back and see him anyways. Since when have you become so disobedient?”

Yoochun kneed him in the groin and he fell onto the floor, groaning out in pain. He continued to kick him in his stomach repeatedly, ignoring JaeJoong’s pleas to stop. This time, Yoochun swore he would show him no mercy.

He picked him up and slammed him against the wall, supporting him up by holding onto his shirt collar only.

“I’m not even a quarter finished with you yet. You’re going to regret what you’re doing, right here, right now” Yoochun whispered dangerously in his ear.

Having no opportunity to fight back, JaeJoong was dragged down the hall to the bedroom. Yoochun made sure to lock the door behind him in the process, making his point across to JaeJoong that he had no way in getting out this time.

The next day, Yunho woke up bright and early to cook breakfast for him and Na Young. After Junsu came by to pick her up, he had a few minutes to relax before he was expected to be at work.

When his doorbell rang, Yunho dropped whatever he was doing and went to open the front door out of curiosity.

“Oh, Y-Yoochun-shi?” he stuttered.

“Hello Yunho-shi, may I come in?”

“Um … sure” he said, moving away from the doorway so he could enter.

“There’s something we need to discuss” he said seriously, “And I want you to answer me truthfully.”

“Ok” he replied, sinking downward in his chair slowly.

“Let’s get straight to the point. I know JaeJoong’s been coming here to see you, am I right?”

Yunho swallowed hard and glanced away. ‘No point in lying now. If I got this far, it has to end now’ he thought.

“Yes, that’s true.”

“Do you two like each other?”

“Yes, we do” he answered honestly.

“Are you in a relationship with him?”

“… Yes, I am.”

Yoochun sighed agitatedly, “I’m very disappointed in you Yunho-shi.”

“I should be saying that about you” he scoffed.

“Excuse me?”

“You abuse him, what kind of monster are you?” he yelled.

“I believe whatever goes on between me and him doesn’t concern you the least bit!”

“It does in fact concern me!”

“In what way? He’s my boyfriend! Why do you think its ok for you to butt in to our business?”

“… Where is he?” Yunho asked stiffly.

“Oh don’t worry, he's already been taken care of” Yoochun smirked.

“You bastard, tell me where he is?!”

“If I were you I’d watch my tone of voice” he informed.

“Why are you doing this?”

“Isn’t it obvious? It’s the only way to keep him tamed and under my control.”

“By forcing him to do what pleases you?”

“Exactly.”

“Then I’m telling you now, I’m not just going to sit here and watch you hurt him even more.”

“I’m sorry you feel that way” Yoochun said standing up from his seat, heading straight for the door.

“Why?”

Yoochun turned his head slightly to the left and gazed at him from the corner of his eye with a smirk spread across his lips.

“In that case, I have no choice but to terminate our business contract."
