"Tallahassee has the grossest bugs"
'college' kid, exclaims this after my organic chemistry two class. any other time before this, I might of agreed. but not now. I just got back from the everglades (formly known as the for-ever-glades)
Friday night. Drove from Tallahassee to Gainsville to stay with Nichole's mom. Cat and 2 ferrets in the car.
Saturday Afternoon - Finally get our asses out of bed, leave the cat behind (patch!) and take the ferrets. Make a journey down to Everglades city. We take I 75 all the way down. Arrive in Everglades city (well actually we stayed in Jerome) around 8 ish. Say hi to nichole's friend, who we are staying with, and then ride into town, and chuckaluscki or something. Hang out with.... Nichole's father's ex financee (complicated huh)
Sunday Morning (brings the dawn in).... well actually more like afternoon again...
head into everglades city in the daytime. check out their "aeroport" which nichole used to live on. tiny little air strip in the middle of the everglades, surrounded by water. pretty funny. then we go to see nichole's father's first concession business in Collier Seminole state park. We hang out with the woman working there for a while, then attempt to go on the 'boardwalk' path in the middle of the woods. I'm wearing shorts and short sleeve, and get EATEN ALIVE by mosquitos. holy shit. they were everywhere. and apparently what i was getting attacked with WERENT BAD. they get worse!? holy shiet. we head on into Naples and go to some beach in naples, forget what it was called. kinda looks like pensacola beach and destin, except alot more fancy... and less fun stuff for kids i guess. We stop at the first mcdonalds we see. CIVILAZATION! WOO! and get some food. but before we stopped there, we went and bought supplies for a feast tonight, our thanks to the folks who took us in. we (well she mostly) made chicken balls. no no, not the actual balls, but... its a cool dish. chicken in cream cheese, with a ton of spices, wrapped up in cresent roll dough and baked. it's yummy! After we (she) made them, we (we) asked if we could go ATVING! That was so much fun! Nichole drove around for a little bit, then I got a turn. As we were heading back, there were like 6 atvs and they said follow us!. The lead one spoke to us, with a huge rebel flag on the back of his atv. we were confused but followed. We drove by them, explored a bit, and then headed on back when we felt uncomfortable being in the middle of the everglades, a mile or so from the house. Alligator food. Oh yeah, i saw a 'in the wild' alligator too. i got pictures.
[patch is eyeing my hot dog that i got from RFOC while she sits on the bed... hungry kitty.. guess i should feed her now... but she has food.)
Monday - wake up, eat breakfast (lunch) and ask to take the ATV out again. We did, twice, and upon returning I find a problem. I lost my glasses case... in the EVERGLADES ahhh. So we search for a while, couldnt find em. I'm panicing.. and never thought to check my feet, where the case fell.. the little foot hold part thing on it. dumbass me. nichole was pissed at me, i hope the folks down there dont think i'm a huge cityfolk idiot. We head on out to port saint lucie, to nichole's father's house. I get to drive down alligator alley, which was pretty cool. We get in a huge traffic jam in the west palm beach area, but make it okay. First thing we do when we get there is jump in the pool. In Jerome, 50 years ago or so, there was some sort of factory. One of their fuel tanks exploded, and it leaked into the soil. Now the local water from the wells and stuff, give the residents cancer and all sorts of problems. good times, so i was very terrified to touch the water or anything. hadn't showered since friday night. scary stuff. Nichole and I catch the late showing of The Day After Tomorrow, which I liked alot (of course). Tuesday, we stop by the guy who's going to take my sublease's house and give him the papers, then we drive on back home. Up the turnpike, stop in gainsville to pick up patch, and head on home. lovely weekend, and pictures should be up soon.

We also have two ferrets now. One sable and one albino. Slinky and Noodle, respectively. Pictures coming soon probably.
Last night Nichole wanted to go to the midnight showing of Harry Potter Volume 3. Lots of nerds there, we got decent seats and good popcorn. I was kinda confused about alot of it, but nichole has read all the books and explains it all to me. We go to sleep at like 3 am, and have to get up at 730. but we oversleep, and end up getting up around 930.
still havent read any books lately. Dark Tower 4 is slowing me down really bad. I got the first half read of it, but it's slow starting up into the second half. Havent beaten any games lately, altho working on some. i'm playing www.bootleggers.us now, i got a few spots to go to get to the highest rank. Havent gotten any new music lately. long long post, and no lj cut. figured i'd make up for the few months i havent posted.
