Sisterhood!
I belong to the very first LJ sorority. lambda_iota_nu We are beginning a brand new pledge week on September 5th. So, go to the community information page, and check the few open posts to find out if it would be something you'd enjoy. I love it. We do charity work, gab via IM and phone with our sisters, we have movie nights, do package swaps, and more. The friends I've made in this sorority are some of the very best- and have been my friends for over 5 years. They are there for me whenever I need them.
