Primal instincts. The innate reactions to a threat within all males in a pack, especially the alpha male. Humans have the ability to control these instincts, these subconscious motives that drive us. However, even with this control, there is no denying that these emotions and instincts lie within us all. The alpha male of a wolf pack sees another male attempting to steal his mate. What do you think his first instinct is going to be? Will it be to go grab some flowers in hopes of impressing his mate? Probably not. No, he will probably attack the intruding male in hopes of killing him. In comes the human ability of reason. The more intelligient males will realize that attacking the intruder would probably not be a good idea. They will probably figure out a better, less violent solution. Still, there is no denying that the urge to attack is still nagging at the backs of the minds of all males.
Control. Not everyone has it. I am proud to say that I have this control. I have been haunted by emotions lately that would drive others insane. Honestly, I am shocked at how well I am able to control myself over this.
