Earlier today I went to see Coraline in Real3D for the second time. I loved it just as much as the first time, although this time around the 3D effects didn't seem to pop out as much to me as the first time I saw it. I suspect it's because the first theater seemed to have a bigger screen and that I was sitting further away this time. I don't know if it's the time I picked to go to see it, but I was the only one in the theater! I normally don't mind much going to see movies by myself, but part of the fun for me is experiencing and joining in the audience reaction to the movie, so I was kind of disappointed by that.

This time around I caught Coraline's mother (maybe the other one) saying something about "supper" which struck me as pretty odd, considering their family is supposed to be from Michigan. In my entire life that I've lived here everyone I've known only refers to the evening meal as dinner, never supper. I suppose the decision to use supper instead of dinner could be to avoid confusion not just in the US, but for international release, since everyone knows that supper is an evening-time meal, even if they don't use that term for it, while dinner can be a midday or evening meal depending on the region. Maybe one or both of Coraline's parents were originally from some state, so "supper" is what she learned.
