I totally agree with you. 110%.

Admittedly, I haven't been following the candidates as well as I should be, but then again, I can't vote anyway. XD But for years, I'd heard about how "omfg Hilary is terrible", so I finally got off my ignorant arse and read some articles out of her. I was dissappointed. Severely. I was hoping to read stories about her slicing a baby in half so that she could blow cocaine up Giulani's arse. Nope, nothing like that. She actually seemed like a pretty decent person. Even the "anti-Hilary" stuff didn't do a particularily astonishing job of making her appear to be the human form of bird flu. In response to what you mentioned earlier about her not leaving Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal, I personally don't see it as a reason to contribute to the negative image that everyone has convinced her to portray. It shows that she's forgiving, which is good news for me, because I hate it when people hold grudges, especially in politics. Other people may see it as making her a sleazebag, but whatever. That's their problem.

Therefore, I'm forced to revert to the fact that.. maybe her opposers are so spiteful towards her because they don't want a woman president? If so, then that means they're just a sad act.

Overall, I just hate it how the media blows everything out of proportiona. Take communism, for example. Growing up, communism seemed to have a connotation of being a terrible horrible government form in which officials burn down your house at night for recreational purposes. When I learned that communism/marxism/socialism is merely a government form in which the government owns everything, i was immensely dissappointed. Same goes for watergate. I'd commonly heard about it since.. God know when. Therefore, I assumed that it must have been some uber-huge deal if it were the main cause that forced Nixon to resign. Again, when I finally learned that it was merely an illegal scheme to get Nixon re-elected I was severely dissappointed.

..and that shall be the end of my rant too. :)

Heh, I can't vote either. I'm not even a citizen. =/.

I'm glad to hear that you actually took the time to do some research. Before I wrote this entry, I googled her and read up on her biography and controversies and such and you're right: there isn't anything that scandalous about her anyway.

maybe her opposers are so spiteful towards her because they don't want a woman president?

I've never met a woman who wasn't happy to see another fellow woman advance to an area where women weren't previously present. That being said, maybe her opposers are loser idiots who don't know what they're talking about, or are sick conservatives who believe that liberals will be responsible for the apocalypse.

Yes, communism is seriously overestimated in being the great evil of our time. People always give me strange looks when I tell them that Karl Marx had the right mind when he wrote The Communist Manifesto. It was just practiced very, very wrong.

And with that being said, I am happy to hear another fellow human being sounding sane.

Cheers. :)
