Ok, I just have to address this?
Have you heard of him? You better have. If not, go to Wikipedia.
Sanjaya...
was cool. Simply put.
When I first saw him in the Top 24 of American Idol, I was like, "Cool! An Indian guy! My age too!" because you know us minorities. We get so excited when we see our own kind represented in the media. I got excited when I discovered M. Night Shyamalan. I got excited when I found out Aishwarya Rai was on Jay Leno (even though I hate her). And so, I got excited when I saw Sanjaya singing.
I voted for him every week in the Top 24.
And then, oh boy oh boy, the top 12 came. This is where he went from "cool" to "amazingly cool". Yeah, he looked gay in some parts but after that "British Invasion" performance, I was in full support. He's not the best singer. But damn, he was the best entertainer. I only watched the show because of him.
He was definitely the worst singer in the top 12. But he wasn't bad! Not bad at all...
Simon Cowell said that if Sanjaya won the show, he'd leave.
HOW COOL IS THAT.
American Idol is one of the lamest shows. The judges don't really critique but say the same thing week after week. And the winners have faded into some American-Idol oblivion, wherever that is. Who remembers Ruben? None of the past winners have gone on to become mainstream musicians. Maybe Kelly Clarkson...for a while.
Yeah, so the show needs to end. Enough with 'reality' TV.
And what better way to end a show than with a bang? A horrific bang, but it'd be a fast death, not a slow painful death most TV shows eventually endure. They would have had people talking for weeks.
And if Sanjaya won, then he wouldn't be bad. Not good, but better than some of the crap singers out there right now.
So when I found out he was eliminated, I was once again disappointed that life works expectedly. Him going on, even to the top 3 or something, would have kept up some excitement. As each week brought us closer and closer to the finale, think of all the questions that would arise:
"Is he going to win?"
"Is Simon going to leave?"
"What's going to happen to AI?"
I think it's time that life got out of the ordinary and predictable and went into something outrageous. Well, the Virginia Tech massacre was pretty out of the ordinary but to me, that's depressing for two reasons:
1. people died. Duh.
2. it shows how stupid and ignorant people are.
I won't talk about that now. This entry is about Sanjaya.
I love how after the judges started to hate Sanjaya, the media picked that up and turned it all into propaganda against him. Poor guy. He seems to take the entire controversy really well.
Yeah. So that's my semi-rant about him. It really didn't make a lot of sense, and wasn't organized too well but too bad.
He was cool. Now he's gone. AI is back to normal. Life is dull again.
