... because these Annapolis cadets are freaking beautiful. Maybe it's because their uniforms have gold buttons, as opposed to dark silver....maybe it's because they have clean white hats, as opposed to dark blue... maybe its because I keep projecting memories of Tom Cruise in Top Gun on them... or maybe it's because they really are just hotter.
I should probably explain myself. This weekend we play Navy (when I say we, I mean the AF football team). As you can imagine, this is quite the big deal. Bigger than homecoming. It's a big deal because it's an inter-service game... you see... some school's care about winning all these big bowls and stuff...service academies just care about being better than all the other service academies and winning the commander-in-chief cup. Anyways, so it's spirit week and all these crazy spirit missions have been staged... stealing naval academy exchange cadets' uniforms, shaving AF into their hair, painting a broken cessna navy blue and getting it onto spirit hill, creating huge spirit banners that say "cream the seamen", etc.
Well back to my original point-- there's like 200 naval cadets here for the weekend, for the football game and other reasons (they're on the rugby, boxing teams, etc.). And they're all walking around the campus with their pretty black service uniforms taking pics here and there. So I've pretty much concluded that I'm going to marry an officer in the Navy. It's a done deal--you can't change my mind.
In other news...I found a fellow Bay-Arean! Okay...so Vacaville is not technically the bay area, but don't give me crap for it. I know that at one point or another all of you have introduced yourselves as from the Bay Area. Well, I made this poster board that's in our hallway with all these pics of the cadets in my element (yeah, my poster is the best one out there) and under my pic i put: "dedicated to bringing the hyphy movement to USAFA." So the other night this upperclassmen (i think a junior?) from a neighboring squad came to my door and was like... "WHO IS CADET....TA...MAR...IZ?" Long story short, he's from vallejo ( he was ACTUALLY wearing a shirt that said vallejo...who does that?!) and said he saw my poster board and wanted to know "who knew about hyphy music!??!".....see how hyphy music brings people together??
Well, I think I'm going to go watch a boxing match now (navy vs. AF...we're pretty good....btw all the guys here are required to take boxing class, while i am left to lowly "self defense").
You know you love me (YES! i haven't said that in FOREVER),
