Tolle’s name was printed carefully in her address book.
Most people used digital address books so that they could contact them easily via e-mail. She even had one herself. However, Miriallia also liked to keep a physical address book as well; writing down names and numbers in her own handwriting made them feel more real to her.
She knew it was a bit silly.
For a moment, she was very angry. She wanted to tear out the page, rip it up, burn it and spit on the ashes. She was tired of all these little things reminding her of Tolle. And it got even worse now that she was home, because it kept shocking her that simple things, like walking past his favorite restaurant, would remind her of him and a dull ache would raise in her chest.
It wasn’t a feeling one every got used to.
Just as she was about to rip out the page of the book, her finger brushed against Kira’s name.
It reminded her of her other friends.
She wasn’t completely alone.
She picked up the pen from off her nightstand and prepared to cross out Tolle’s name. But, her hands shook, and there were tears in the back of her eyes, threatening to fall.
She couldn’t do it.
Instead, she turned a page and wrote Dearka’s name on the first free space
