spring surprise
Myungsoo/Ara
Fluff | 393 words
She wakes up to the beams of morning sunrays streaming through the open blinds of her baby pink room. The happy melodious sound of the birds chirping, accompanying the fresh scent of the beautiful spring morning is enough to put her in a good mood; yet something or rather someone is set on spoiling the start of the season for her.
She felt it as soon as her eyes flew open - the warmness of his breath down her nape and his light, steady snores are a little hard to ignore when they’re so close to her ear.
Ara is used to this, having her best friend creeping into her room late at night through the window she leaves open on purpose, but it still shocks her just the same every morning she wakes up to find him snuggling up to her on the empty space of her 4-poster bed.
“Myungsoo!” she gasps, flipping over the covers off their feet in surprise. She shoots up in bed immediately and scoots a little further away, as though she’s embarrassed about being caught in bed with him. Not that anything really happened, but still...
“Morning sunshine,” he mumbles sleepily, a small lopsided grin appearing on his lazy morning face. “Did you have a nice sleep?”
“Weren’t you just here yesterday?” she hisses, afraid that if she were to tone it up even a level higher, she might actually wake her parents up next door. “You’d usually let a few days pass before - “
“It’s spring,” he says matter-of-factly as he too starts to sit up in bed, eyes still half closed. “I wanted to surprise you.”
“Yeah,” she rolls her eyes. “This surprise is getting old alright. Get out now,” she throws a pillow at him, which he catches easily and lays his head on it. “I’m serious, Myungsoo. If Mum gets in here and sees you - “
“She won’t, unless you let her,” he winks knowingly at her and yawns loudly. “And this is not the surprise, dummy. I’m taking you out on a picnic.”
Ara snorts, a little too loud, a little too haughty. “You, picnic? With what? Cold turkey?”
“Oh,” Myungsoo smiles wickedly, his two eyes twinkling mischievously. “You’ll love the food I’ve prepared for us.”
“And what is that?”
He pauses a moment for the effect, before coyly saying,
“Cucumber sandwich.”
“YAH!”
