RIP 22nd July 2008

I know her not at all til I read it on this very day
On the twenty second day of the seventh month
this year
the year, two thousand and eight
She left the world
She was only nineteen
I was nineteen only a decade ago
She left because of an accident
Perhaps an accident that can be avoided?
Yet another hapless victim of a young driver
who doesn't know his limits
A coward who dares not admit his folly
A coward who ran away
A man should have the courage to face her parents and say sorry

Not very publicised case on the mainstream media. Yet another auto accident by a young driver (he is still in NS). He rounded a corner but lost control and resulted in the death of his passenger, a young girl of 19. He claimed he was travelling at 60 kmph. Unlike what that was reported in the tabloids, he is not the bf of the girl.

No one wished the accident. But what that really upset the friends of the girl was that he was too cowardly to face her parents, or admitting his mistake. Instead he tries to defend himself. IMO, regardless if you are faultless or otherwise, one should at least have the courage to say sorry, instead of finding excuses or trying to defend yourself. If one is truly faultless and it is a freak accident, your name will be cleared eventually. Instead of focusing on defending yourself (offering excuses), one should be sincere in one's apology and regrets.

When a friend died because of you, directly or indirectly. One should have the decency to say SORRY, instead of crying, IT IS NOT MY FAULT! Even if it is not your fault, you should accept everything thrown at you by the parents, because REGRADLESS, you did cause her death.
