It's ds_match day 1, chickadees!
In the Whimsy corner we have the awesomely awesome (and cracky) Lift, and from That Other Team we have The Harder They Fall* and, from both we have further evidence that the Scary Fannish Hivemind is alive, well and IN UR RITERS, JUXTAPOSIN UR IDEEHS.
I swear, no one does this deliberately-- the compare and contrast thing happened last year as well. I think it's one of the signs of just how shiny everyone involved in the Match is.
*Which is also totally an awesome story and you should go and read and vote on it, too (higher vote for whimsy!). Basically, this is a competition in which no-one loses, everyone wins and the amount of truly spangly fic in the fandom increases by 28 (and more, if you add in the ficlet bombs, the back up writers and the fact that two teams of opposing writers makes for more fic than you'd expect)
