Glad you've gotten some good suggestions for the PF - two of the dancers in my company have it as well, they have said the foot roller, stretching and getting good insoles for their shoes have all helped a lot. There is probably more information at the Mayo Clinic website and other medical sites.

For your hips, it also helps to be aware of how you stand and walk: most people walk with their feet too close together, such that it's pulling the outsides of the hips and straining the skeleton in a way it doesn't like. Try to be mindful of keeping your feet a full hip-width apart when you walk or stand, so your ankles are truly directly below your hips (it may feel like they're too far apart at first, but as it becomes habit it will feel much more natural).

And yes to the ideas for other fitness activities that aren't running. Biking and hiking are good and lower-impact. Swimming is another great option that gives you excellent endurance and strength while supporting all your muscles and joints in virtual anti-gravity (and gives your feet a break!). :-) Hugs to you my dear.
