Variations on a crabby theme...

Made it again tonight, adding the green onions and doubling the crab and pasta, and it was *still* too salty. Either the cellophane noodles need more salt (as opposed to the regular pasta I used,) my fish sauce is super-salty, or I should have followed my gut and decreased it. Here's tonight's variation:

1 tsp vegetable oil
1 c. crab (7.75 oz)
3 large cloves garlic
1.5 Tbs fish sauce
3 Tbs finely chopped chantrelles
3/4 Tbs sesame oil
1/4 c. green onions
2 c. cooked pasta

I'll keep at it until I nail it :-)

In other news, I cut Avery's new waf today. It's got a fully circular skirt, and I'm making it short because I cut the velveteen yardage very close. I did happen to have enough red silk lying around to line the whole thing in red silk, so that'll be pretty. The red of the velveteen does not match the red silk lining, but I'm OK with that.

Speaking of costumey bits, I ended up revamping an old dress to wear to NYE. It was an avocado green silk bias-cut number, trimmed in dark brown lace. Took the lace off, dyed it black, and added a tulle & sequin trim at the neckline. I had time to re-hem the sleeves in black thread, but them hem still needs to be redone (the thread was poly and didn't dye, but that was expected.) Pics are on FB if you really want to see it.

Right - back to the grindstone.
