Bits & pieces

hrj posted "Why to-do schedules should be flexible." I agree wholeheartedly! I managed to get most of Monday's list done, except for repairing the tent, because I didn't have an extra grommet. I had to go get black silk ribbon at Laci's in order to finish the hood edge the way I wanted, and I didn't finish the hem until yesterday morning. But being able to hand Dani a hood that has all the seams finished by hand makes me happy. I also finished a not-so-secret project that I didn't track, got the guarding set on the green & gold bodice, and did some unintended grocery shopping for Crown.

I need new hiking shoes. I love mine, but I have literally worn holes in the lining somehow, and Monday they gave me blisters. Yesterday I did my hike in clogs, and now the bottoms of my feet are also sore. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to manage today's outing...

The incoming Baron & Baroness of Allyshia entered sewing hell this week - it's their first time stepping up, he is sewing for both of them, and they bought patterns that they have been having a deal of trouble with. He had to restart his garb from scratch - thank goodness he bought extra wool! I decided to make her a silk belt so she doesn't have to wear a leather one. It won't take long, and I can dedicate the non-set-up time Friday to helping with whatever sewing is left. I am absolutely positive that they will be fine, because they rock, I just wish I lived closer and could help more.

I'm glad I didn't piece the sleeves for the green & gold yet, because now that the guarding is set, I'm redesigning (again!) It's not so bad, really, just that the guarding is wide, so I suspect reusing the tiny panes will look disproportionate. My hope is that I'll be able to do the sleeves and set them this morning. Then I can make up the aforementioned belt, prep our contribution for Crown food, and see how much time I have left before I go over to the city to have depression cocktails with madbaker. And we're taking Sylvie & Fearghus to dinner tonight, too. (This means no fp for us tonight, so I expect to hear all about it from the usual suspects. Please?) It's going to be a busy but lovely day.
