Both. Sometimes one inside of the other. I'm versatile that way.
2. Real or artificial tree?
Unadorned wreath. Yes, we're going Spartan this year.
3. When do you put up the tree?
Prior to this year? Probably a week or so beforehand.
4. When do you take the tree down?
Weeks later usually, since it's been artificial for the past ten Christmases or so.
5. Do you like egg nog?
With alcohol-or in the complete absence of whole milk-it's tolerable.
6. Favorite gift received as a child?
Probably a SuperNintendo, back when I was into gadgets, which I'm not now.
7. Do you have a nativity scene?
Nope. By the time one of the wise man's camels looked like he had contracted leprosy I decided it was time to move on.
8. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
I'm going with the author. It was probably clothing-related.
9. Mail or email Christmas cards?
This year? Snail mail all the way. Just sent a bunch out to my Tower junkie friends overseas-at the height of the Christmas season-and can tell you that I wouldn't mind dealing with the USPS sometime next decade.
10. Favorite Christmas Movie?
A Christmas Carol (Albert Finney musical version)
11. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
Usually I shop throughout the year, except for the past few Christmases, when I've been completely broke. Last year I waited until the last minute.
12. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
Turkey
13. Clear lights or colored on the tree?
Colored lights. I don't care if this is an appropriation of a pagan festival, I'll be damned if anyone is taking it away from me.
14. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
Very (minor) travel. Heading over to Staten Island tomorrow.
15. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
Both.
16. Most annoying thing about this time of year?
Celine Dion. Although, I suppose that's a year-round annoyance as well.

Actually, I wouldn't mind that as much today.
One of my presents was an Old Navy card from an aunt.
I've gotta see how I can best utilize that.
I'm pretty sure I still have a pair of jeans I owned when I was in the seventh grade.
