“The Incredible Hulk: Return of the Monster” Trade Paperback 1. B
This was a really good read. The Peter David run will never be topped for Hulk ideas, but this comes close. I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed John Romita Jr’s art, and the story is very inventive. The Hulk barely appears, but when he does, you know about it. Now, from all I’ve heard (from Puff Chrissy), the whole thing goes pear-shaped and becomes rather a joke as the storyline gets drawn out to absurd lengths, but it’s a strong start marred only by some pacing problems.
“An Toraiocht” B+
This is surprisingly adult in content, considering the original text is a secondary school text and the comic is probably intended as a potential teaching material. The art is cartoony in places, but the gore and sex of the original epic myth are all there. An interesting read.
