I have been making lists lately.
Why? That is a good question.
Instead of answering it, I am giving you lists.
None of these are in any order, because I am bad at ranking.

Five Albums That Are Kind Of Blowing My Mind Right Now
Heathers, Here, Not There
-Irish sisters with acoustic guitar and blistering two-part harmony. Like Tegan & Sarah with a rocket up their arse.
Man Plus, Hungarian Suicide Songbook
- Indie-electro-dance-art-punk, which sounds like everything I hate about current "indie" music, yet is so fucking great I can barely stand it. I would have Jared's babies if he wasn't so bloody gay.
The Adicts, Sound of Music
- Why didn't I discover this riotously cheeky British 80s punk band sooner? I unabashedly love everything I've heard thus far.
Missy Higgins, On a Clear Night
- I was impressed by this Australian folk-pop songwriter's debut album, but her sophomore album just fucking floors me. It's damn near brilliant.
Katie Chastain, Firecracker
- This incredible album was produced by Nathan Johnson, composer of the score for Brick, which you should know is amazing. He definitely adds his style of unusual instrumentation to Chastain's own fairy-tale melodies and haunting lullabies, and the result is fanastic.*
Honorable mention: Hob The Troll, Hob Sings!
- Stevo's latest opus. I continue to believe in his ability to make ridiculous, infectious, awesome music, even when it is a song about hating goats from the POV of a troll.
Top 10 Men From The British Isles** That I Would Like To Snog
Gabriel Byrne
Clive Owen
Jamie Parker
Glen Hansard
Joseph Fiennes
Luke Toomey
Jason Barry
Rufus Sewell
Hugh Laurie
Cillian Murphy
*If you noticed that I just added this one, well, that's why I suck at ranking. I always forget something really important.
**If you are a sexy Irishman who finds this term objectionable, I would be happy to let you smack me around a bit to teach me a good lesson.
