Stop The World!

It seems that MTV, in its infinite wisdom, has decided it would be a great idea to remake the Rocky Horror Picture Show, even to the point of adding new songs (for chrissakes). Obviously this idea is beyond ludicrous.

Internet petitions tend to be a little pointless, but good God, people....we have to do SOMETHING. Just sign it. rocky horror

Sarah. I want you not to take this the wrong way, and just consider this idea.

Are you really using your time effectively by typing and documenting your obsession with a crappy movies in your blog? In the grand scheme of things.

Also. old meme.

Meme shmeme. I just felt like I had to do something. In the words of my friend Jake, "That's what online petitions are for."

Cutting out songs and writing new songs are totally different kettles of horse color games. Did I mention that Richard O'Brien isn't involved and has basically condemned the project outright?

Uh-oh, you've fallen for it; the old reverse-marketing scam! It all goes back to the old saying "There's no such thing as Bad Publicity". Without having had to spend even one thin dime, MTV has gotten 80% of the internet to post about their RHPS remake on their blogs. Good or bad, we've all just made sure that EVERYBODY knows there's a remake being made.

Would have been better if it had gotten made, put in theaters for a week, then died a slow and painful death on DVD. But thanks to all of us fans, it's now an "Event" and/or a "Controversy", worthy of MILLIONS of dollars worth of free advertising in magazines and television.

*sigh*
