I vacillated over whether I should wait to post this, or do it now and risk jinxing everything. Turns out I'm far too excited not to.
A week or so before my trip to Virginia, I sat down with my very favoritest punk band in Seattle,
Steel Tigers of Death, and interviewed them for
Razorcake. Todd Taylor (the zine's editor) had asked me to do so quite awhile ago, and I just finally got it set up. I had my friend
Lindsay photograph their CD release show on the 17th, and together with the transcribed article and half my heart, sent them to Todd. It had been almost four years since I interviewed a band, so I was nervous about how it would come out.
Todd responded today saying it is "excellent," and that it'll be in the next available issue (#46 won't be out for another four months, but still!)
I'm so excited. I've been writing for Razorcake for almost two years now, and I've always wanted to do something more substantial than record reviews, but I sort of blew my first opportunity to do so (don't ask, please). I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as Todd, and that it turns them on to the band.
Cross your fingers for me!
