she's leaving home

My grandmother died yesterday. She's been sick for a long time, and she hasn't been herself for even longer, so I think everyone was as prepared as they could be. I was never that close to her, since she lived in Minnesota, but mostly I'm just worried about my mom.
We're flying back there for the funeral next Thursday, then coming back Sunday or Monday.
This will be only maybe the second or third Christian funeral I've ever been to...mom has warned me that it'll be a lot more elaborate than Jewish funerals.

My mom just called to tell me that one of my "baby cousins" just turned 18 two days ago. I swear it was just a few years ago that they'd come over to our house and play "Lion King" in our living room with a Pride Rock made of couch cushions. I should get her something cool to bring her when we go to MN...but what does one get an 18-year-old girl you barely know? All I know is that she's fairly religious and goes to horse camp. And used to listen to bands like Relient K and the Newsboys, but I can't be sure of that anymore.

Does anyone want to see The Last Kiss, Zach Braff's new movie? I have a ticket to a free screening, but I won't be able to use it now. It's Thursday the 14th at 7pm at the Oak Tree Cinema out on Aurora, near Greenlake. Let me know if you want it.
