Hung out with the ex-'mates last night for the first time since they moved out...and it was awesome. We needed the little break of a few weeks after the somewhat disastrous attempt at living together, but now we're back to having goofy fun and making each other laugh ridiculously.
Also we will be making a website called jakerateseverything.com, where Jake rates everything on a scale of three stars, which will be represented by thumbs. First up: bullfighting. Three stars!
Ryan joined us and we all went to Red Robin, then rented Shopgirl and watched it. I had been avoiding seeing that movie because a) I hate Claire Danes and b) I hate Claire Danes. But I love Steve Martin and Jason Schwartzman (the latter in a real and carnal way), so I gave it a go. It was both better and not as good as I anticipated, in different ways. Overall, I think I liked it. Claire Danes didn't annoy me after the first few minutes, and did I mention that I love Jason Schwartzman in a real and carnal way? It is also reassuring to see that Steve Martin can do movies that do not hinge upon him being really white and wooing a black woman. One thing I will say: Steve Martin doing the narrative voice-overs was self-indulgent. He was playing the character of Ray, and Ray was not doing the narration. The narrator is an omniscient non-entity, and it should have been voiced that way.

Tonight was knitting night, and it was awesome. I am working on a scarf that is supposed to be for Christen Knives for her birthday, but I am behind on production and they will be here TOMORROW.
I am a leetle annoyed because Amber said she'd give me a ride, so I stayed much longer than I intended, and then she reneged and I had to take the bus. I am very tired. But I am happy because Devin was home and I actually got to sit and talk to him for the first time in months. It was kinda nice, I almost forgot that we were actually friends.
I also went dumpster diving for the very first time ever. Well, Devin was doing the actual diving, but I took some stuff. Someone threw out some really awesome stuff near their apartment, and I got a really nice John Steed umbrella and a plastic storage container. There were also these really fancy-looking metal end tables that were fine except that they were missing the glass tops. I totally wanted to snag them but they were effing heavy.

Did I mention that the Knives kids will be here TOMORROW?

!!!

Okay, srsly. Sleeping.
