Elise Campbell Martin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter B. Martin of Summit, N.J., was married yesterday to Gregory Stephen Bates, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Bates of Sudbury, Mass. The Rev. Christopher Brdlik, an Episcopal priest, performed the ceremony at Christ Church in Short Hills, N.J.
The bride, who graduated from Colgate University, and the bridegroom, a graduate of Dartmouth, met at Harvard, from which they received M.B.A. degrees.
Mrs. Bates, 32, is a marketing strategy consultant at the Monitor Company, business consultants in Cambridge, Mass. Her father is the vice president for investor relations of the Engelhard Corporation, a maker of specialty chemical products in Iselin, N.J.
Mr. Bates, 31, works in Stamford, Conn., as a managing director for real estate investment at the GE Capital division of the General Electric Company. His mother, Marjorie Bates, is the speech therapist at the Ephraim Curtis Middle School in Sudbury. His father is a venture capitalist in Wellesley, Mass.
