Sexy bitches, rumba, tango, birdthemes - the usual.

I just watched a few of the boys’ short programs from NHK Trophy.

Adam Rippon is so code-whoring with all those fancy entrances. ;) It looks pretty on him, though, and he does a very good impression of a seagull in the program. The Rippon Lutz still blows my mind. Also, his choreo/style are gorgeous. Also notice how he’s continuously losing the baby-fat in his face, mmm sharper features. Poor puppy was disappointed and I also wondered Why so low?!, just like he did. He’d only fucked up the axel, come on.

Daisuke Takahashi’s SP is fierce. He looks hot, his footwork is absolutely wicked and unique, and oh the performance! I definitely approve. I wouldn’t mind if he won the Olympics.

Johnny Weir, that was a wonderfully dirty rumba. He was very into it this time around, great presence, and the way he moves from head to toe (watch those hands!). Also, yay, Johnny, you can still jump - though was it just me or was there really one jump missing in the SP? I guess they were all there, I just didn’t notice the last one.

Jeremy Abbott. Hm. That music is a piece I’d expect from Ryan Bradley, not Jeremy. (I don’t like the music very much, I think it’s uninteresting.) Also, the costume? Is lame. Jeremy’s skating was, of course, very clean and technically perfect. But man, he has absolutely no… line on the ice. No flow. This is subjective, of course. For me, Jeremy’s skating just looks all meh, nothing about it sticks out, it’s like watching a series of elements that were pasted together and may kinda match, but don’t create anything that would draw me in. Sorry, Jer. His jumps are fast and clean, yes, but they happen so quickly and have a ride-out that is over so fast that I can’t even properly appreciate them. So yeah, Jeremy Abbott is cute and all, but I’ve no love for his skating, because it just doesn’t do anything for me.

I haven’t watched Joubert or any of the others yet; I might do it tomorrow. Though I don’t really need to see Joubert, it’s the same program and he’s the same Joubert, right. Just in a different, slightly less porny, outfit.

And just as a side note. Ashley Wagner is in first after the Ladies SP, with some 56 points? I saw that and thought wow, is that like a normal ladies score, because it seemed ridiculously low. So I went back to TEB and checked. Yu-Na Kim, who scores like 76 in a SP, is in a totally different league - even more so than Plushenko was at the last Olympics. It’s incredible.

Someone make icons of all those new JWe pics? Or like, general skating icons? I wants me some.

In other news, we put down the deposit for our new flat tonight and are moving soon - hopefully on Tuesday. I’m moving in with two guys. Should be interesting. I want to go buy bed linen and stuff tomorrow.
Our place is in The Ivory Building, which I keep calling the Ivory Tower. :D I've had a very good feeling about the place ever since we first discovered it and it turned out almost as good as expected - and cheaper than expected. Yay? Though obviously it's nowhere as pretty as the actual Ivory Tower.

figure skating, yu-na kim, daisuke takahashi, jeremy abbott, adam rippon, johnny weir
