I hate that "oh no, I got injured" fear. :( The last time I had it really bad was...last season, I think? I remember I did something bad to my knee and it took forever to heal completely, and I was so afraid of skating for awhile. I did stop being scared, though--I just had to keep skating despite being afraid. The fear faded eventually.
As much as I love the artistry in skating, what I enjoy the most at the moment is the athleticism of it, the speed.
*NOD* I love watching other people be artistic and graceful, but I'm not really good at being graceful. XD The skater boy I know keeps trying to teach me what to do with my hands...it's kinda not working. Oops. But I LOVE skating fast and jumping hard. It feels so good. ♥ I doubt ice dancing could ever make me happy. It's pretty to watch, but it doesn't have enough death-defying-ness for me to do it. :p Deep edges...nnngh. Those are so hot. Seriously. *swoon*
...ahaha, and this is why I always feel like a hypocrite when I complain about Joubert focusing on jumps and not a lot else. >___>; Because I focus on jumps and little else! When I'm feeling all connected to the ice, I jump and jump and wear myself out. My three-turns and mohawks are suffering, I KNOW, but--I want to juuuump.
I hate that "oh no, I got injured" fear. :( :( I think we all do. I really hope I'll get over it once the bruise I have now heals, so that even when I fall, it won't be old hurt + new hurt, just the new bit. I'll definitely keep skating, though it's more fun without that fear scratching at the back of my mind.
It feels so good. - it does! I love jumping until I'm very exhausted, it feels perfect, and well, like I told you sometime long ago already, I love the whole flying-through-the-air-ah!I-landed-iiit part. :D
.ahaha, and this is why I always feel like a hypocrite when I complain about Joubert focusing on jumps and not a lot else. >___> Lol, I know! But then again, Joubert has been skating for >>10 years. So he should be able to do more than we can, not just jump-wise, but overall. I do love all parts of skating and I want to take ballet and become more graceful and really learn how to use my whole body on the ice to create that... that whole impression. But that takes time. So I guess it's not really hypocritical, not unless you'll still be doing just jumps in 10 years. ;)
