I woke up early in the morning, or more like still at night, my mind all worried. I managed to fall back asleep, dreamed of a very fast and crazy and dangerous chase down a snow-covered slope. Then I woke up again at like 9, it was sunny and beautiful outside. Got up, took a shower...
Some time later, the guys from downstairs come up to tell me that they have an enormous water leak in the ceiling.
Now there are people (the Polish people, friends of the family) trying to figure out if it's really the shower (probably not), or the kitchen sink or something else in our apartment that's causing the trouble. There was water in the corner of the kitchen.
It's so annoying. And of course a plumber might come tomorrow or, if not, then he won't come until Monday.
I went to sign up for the fitness class today after lunch. The girl from Bureau des sports was a real bitch and told us (international students) that we can't come unless we're in her list. (I'd e-mailed her and went to the office to tell them that I want to participate, but I still wasn't in the list.) We - me, one of the Italian girls and a lovely lovely Mexican girl (Samira?) - tagged along anyway, in case some of the people on the list don't show up. In the end, we just participated in the class and nobody minded. The next time, though, I won't be able to go at 2pm, I'll have to come to one of the later sessions.
The session was led by a GUY - a group of like 35 girls and the male coach. In the beginning, he introduced himself, then he started explaining something in French... It was something about vaginal muscles (lol!) Samira leaned to me to inform me that she has no idea what he's talking about, I nodded in agreement... and Mr Coach noticed and told me that if I'm not interested, I can just as well leave. I was like - wtf? Does he mean me? Because we'd barely said 2 words.
Anyway, the workout. We warmed up and then we did some rather hardcore exercises for thighs and calves - or not hardcore, it's just that there were so many repetitions. We also did some for arms and back-muscles.
The funny part - or maybe the really sad part - was when the French girls started to faint. First one of them got sick and had to go wash her face and then sit down. Then another one had to lie down and put her legs up, quickly followed by another. The coach said that it's normal, blah blah, that it's the heat. It was warm in there, but not too hot. And yeah, it was work out, but not THAT bad. *eyeroll*
The stretching we did was highly insufficient for me - I would have liked to stretch more properly, do something for my flexibility.
All in all, it felt good to work out again, I'd missed it so so much. Also, the good thing about actually going to a session with an instructor/coach is that you're pushed to work harder, do more than you normally would just by yourself. It hurts, but it's good.
Then I walked a bit with Samira, since she lives in the center and I was headed there. She is so nice, very warm and friendly - like probably all Mexican people. We walked past this store that had Le Petit Prince in so many different languages! They even had Czech! I have to take a picture of the shop window.
I went to Furet de Nord, this big bookstore/stationery and music place - I got these gift coupons from my bank and wanted to use the 15€ one, since I needed a journal, anyway. I wanted to succumb to the temptation and finally get a Moleskin, but in the end, I didn't. The soft-cover blank book (not the pocket size, the slightly bigger one) that would have been suitable cost 15euros... And I would have bought it if there hadn't been a selection of cuter and cheaper things. In the end, I bought an adorable journal by
Thé des Ecrivains (they make tea and stationery - brilliant!). It has a cover with golden glitter in the handmade paper, the pages have different colors, all handmade paper. I love it. They also had this wonderful large golden or silver book, but I decided that it's too big for my liking.
Then I bought groceries (again), some croissants and bread and Greek-style yogurt etc. Came back home... and the water crap happened. I now have to go downstairs to shower, sigh.
PS: Dude, I need new icons. These are ANCIENT. But I'm too lazy to make some.
