Bullet-point entries seem to be all I’m capable of lately:
• As I was waiting at the Mayakovskaya metro station on Saturday evening, wearing red mary-jane(ish) shoes, red tights, a black&white skirt, a read sweater and a black sweater + red scarf, a boy with a biiig camera snapped a few pictures of me. Then he came to show me and gave me his phone number.
• Then I had dinner with Lena at the Czech House. I had the hugest Wiener Schnitzel I have ever seen in my entire life. Lena had the “Czech Platter”, consisting of a selection of like 8 typically Czech dishes. I got to taste some of everything and it was so.good. Czech food is glorious.
• After that we took a walk down the Tverskaya and I had strawberry cheesecake, but it was a disappointment, because it didn’t even taste like proper cheesecake sigh.
• I got a talking-to where my attitude to food is concerned and it actually kinda helped? I found out that having a tiny breakfast, then a small snack (a piece of bread) at around 11-ish, then a bigger, warm lunch + dessert around 4, and then a bit of fruit in the evening if I feel like it - this works much better and makes me feel less stuffed and less inclined to nibble on crap in the evenings than. Though I like bigger breakfasts. But yeah, I’m working on restoring my discipline where eating without being hungry, esp. in the evening, is concerned.
• The balloons I got on Sunday (which I wrote about in my Russia journal)... I wanted to keep them, then I realized that I wanted to go to the supermarket on my way back, so I decided to write little poems or something like that, tie the papers to the balloons and release them. Then I stopped by this booth selling pastries and cookies to buy something and while I was fumbling for my purse, the balloons just... flew away. So no spectacular balloon release.
• I texted the photographer boy today in the morning and gave him my e-mail address, because I’d like to see the pictures. He called back almost immediately but I didn’t pick up because I was late for class already and besides, I was scared. ;)
• Tonight’s class was productive. I wrote fic and then even more fic, because I was So.Damn.Bored.
• The bad thing is that we DO have to write a 20-page project for that class, even though when I asked about it in the beginning, the professor said that we don’t have to do it. She said she’ll send us the topic by next Monday. I think I’ll email her and ask her to send it to us earlier, because I don’t feel like fucking waiting a whole week. Also, I’d like to know what exactly we - international students - have to do. She only gave the info on the side, in Russian only, so if I didn’t understand Russian, I wouldn’t have even known!
• When I came back from school in the evening, my roomie had just left (she skipped the second half of the class again, ha, while I was a good girl for once and stayed). So I used the opportunity to do some exercises and it felt good. I love the way my body looks sometimes. (Or some parts of it, anyway.) I love how skating has strengthened me in general and I love the subtle muscles that I have/am going to have. I particularly like the way my shoulders look. The conclusion? Skating is awesome.
