...but a dream within a dream.

I had the most amazing dream last night! I woke up crying, not because it was so sad (though it was at times), but because it was so strong, emotional. Then I nearly forgot about it, but - fortunately - I remembered it in the afternoon. I don't remember many details of the plot, sadly, but I remember the visuals.

In the beginning, I was standing in the middle of a landscape. One of my cousins and my uncle were there. There were mountains and cliffs, hills that were an incredible shade of green and skies of a rich, turquoise-tinged blue.

I looked up to the sky and saw a magnificent rainbow. So I fumbled in my bag to get my camera; my uncle was already snapping pictures. And then I saw another rainbow. And another. I stared in awe. They spanned the sky - which was a bit gray, but not a gloomy gray, now, veiled in mist and clouds - in various places, some of them closer, some further/higher up. I thought that it must be some sort of divine signal or intervention. One of the rainbows ended nearby, so I walked to where it touched the ground and put my hands into the rainbow (it was a little one).

Then - I was looking at the whole landscape from above now, as if I were floating - I realized that the streaks of gray smoke/mist/clouds flying through the air are, actually, aliens, some sort of another life-form from another planet that came to help us. At first, people celebrated. But then something happened - I think that there was a skip in time and this part of the dream did not follow immediately after the events I just described. Maybe the crisis was over, so we didn't need the help from the aliens anymore, or people just got stupid the way people do, I don't know. People started to hate on the aliens and discriminate against them. I was telling everybody to remember that they'd come in peace, to help us, that they've become part of our world... But they wouldn't listen and the aliens all had to flee.

Then I remember wandering through various landscapes, mostly it was cliffs above the sea with ruins of castles and such. The world looked abandoned in a way, and a bit less civilized, wilder. I was thinking back to the days of glory, when we could fly and such... In fact, I was persuaded that I still can fly, like in the old times.

I tried to fly, but all I could manage was very high leaps from which I landed without hurting myself, but I couldn't quite fly. Then a boy I loved was suddenly there - I even know who it was, hehe, it was my first ever crush. I tried to persuade him that I CAN fly, that the ability has not been forgotten, the magic. He was doubtful. So I took him and leapt with him...

We landed on a plane and a huge bright blue dog (or was it a bear?) came out of a cave there and wanted to attack us. In panic, I grabbed the boy and jumped off the cliff with him in my arms, towards the green-blue ocean... And I flew. It was hard at first, but became easier.

The colors everywhere... they were so vivid, it was incredible. The ocean, especially.

We found shelter in some old castle, the floor had a black&white pattern, it looked like a chess-board. The rooms were filled with ice and water, it was a very arctic setting. Suddenly, an ice bear stuck his head in through the window and we had to run yet again... I flew through windows, slammed doors shut, but the bear followed. (Our advantage was that we could fly, which the bear didn't expect.) In the end, again, we came out soaring high above the ocean, in dazzling sunlight....

It sounds so lame when I write it down like this, but it was absolutely incredible in the dream. The colors, the feelings, the plasticity and vividness of it all. I wish I remembered more of it. I wish I could make a movie like this. I wish I could write a story in such a setting.

***

I kinda want to write.
• Give me 3 words (and - optionally - a pairing) and I'll write a drabble for you. :) Fanfic or original, English or Czech.
• Or, if you want, I could steal the kiss-meme idea from Cel - if you want me to write you a special kiss, give me a pairing and (to make it easier for me) 1 word and I'll try.

writing, dreams
