First of all: Thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday in one way or another, be it text messages, LJ entries, LJ comments, ICQ messages... THANK YOU, you made me feel all loved. I'm sorry that I didn't respond to all of you, but yesterday was kinda busy. I just want you to know that I appreciate it so so much! <3
I got chocolate and a white rose from Steffi, my room mate. I went to buy some ice cream and whipped cream (I ate waaay too much sweet yesterday!) - the weather was lovely, all sunny, so it was a nice walk. I had teleconference with my team on Skype and we wasted quite a while trying to figure out what topic to choose - we finally chose a topic, only to go back to my initial proposition in the evening. (sigh) I went to aerobics a bit later, came back to the dorms and since I was feeling all bouncy and energized, I decided to go to the rink to skate for a bit.
I got there at 5:30 (you can get student discounts if you buy a ticket before 6pm), but the lady at the ticket booth told me that I could only skate for about 25 minutes - after that, the rink will be closed for an hour for ice resurfacing. (An hour? For resurfacing? Wtf!) So I'd have to wait to skate for 30 more minutes afterwards. I didn't want to wait that long, so I went back home, slightly disappointed. I think I'll go on Monday morning, though, because I won't be able to go to the afternoon session at the Olympiyskiy rink this week, as I have class. Well, actually, I'd love to go this weekend, but it's more expensive and you can't get the student prices on weekends and I don't want to waste money.
I spent the evening doing... nothing? Just chatting around on Skype and art-journaling a little and eating too much chocolate. Steffi went out with Maggie and some French and German boys last night, but I didn't join them, because I didn't feel like staying out all night... which is what you have to do, as the dormitory is closed from 1am to 6am.
I worked on the aforementioned project in the morning today. I will probably have lunch now - I thought I'd go to TGI Fridays today, but I have some food in the fridge that needs to be eaten, plus I don't even feel very hungry, so I'll postpone that for tomorrow. I will go for a walk later, I think - I want to go to the market at Olimpiyskiy to get some of those yummy pastries again and since I'll already be there, I could maybe inquire whether or not it is possible to skate more often than just during the public sessions, provided that I won't be doing stupid stuff on the ice, but practice like a good little figure skater. I'm quite sure it is possible - the little girls are allowed to come, anyway. (I was there on a Saturday two weeks ago, remember? And the place was full of little skater kids.)
