Damn this school!
We have this class that wasn't supposed to start until the second half of the semester, but they changed the schedule, so we have it now. It was supposed to be called Economies in Transition, but it turns out it's Transition Economics, which - in my opinion - has a completely different meaning and hints at a different content.
I already ranted about it last Monday, about how pointless the class was and how horrible the professor. The next class is today and he said that we'd write a test every lesson - I bet he's going to ask about things that he has NOT covered in his lecture, i.e. about micro- and macroeconomics. He gave us summaries for the basic terms and concepts of both micro and macro, but I HATE economics and I don't remember half of it and I certainly am not keen on memorizing all his stupid definitions and formulas.
Also, we have this homework, which is about things that we did not cover in the lecture. (Not the one I went to and also not the one from which I fled.) I tried to do some of it, I even searched for the economic terms involved and wrote down definitions and tried to understand.
BUT if he asks us to hand in the homework and if he gives us a test consisting of similar tasks, i.e. stuff he DID NOT DO IN THE LECTURE, I am going to put my hand up and tell him that EXCUSE ME BUT HOW CAN YOU TEST US ON SOMETHING WE HAVEN'T HAD IN YOUR CLASS?! I mean, he can't even assume that all of us had this crap in our previous studies (though to a certain extent we all did), because we come from different schools and different countries... And even if not, it's just not correct to grade something that is NOT the content of the class.
Also, I don't study fucking ECONOMICS, I study MANAGEMENT. I know that here they call the program International Economics, but my main field is International Management, so he can't just go and expect me to be 100% familiar with all his stupid economical theories.
I feel guilty now because I haven't really studied much - or almost at all - and I'm about to pack my bags now and go skating instead of staying at home to study. But if I don't go, I won't have the chance again until next Sunday - I'd have to go to some other rink, like the Evropeiyskiy, but the ice there is small and it's like 10€/hour!
fuck,
school,
ice skating
