Very pretty! I'm so glad you posted this. I'm seriously considering some ink in my future and want to hear all about your experience. The art also looks to be the same style I'm interested in. Did you take in a picture? Did they copy that picture and create an outline for your body, or did the artist create the image by merely looking at it? How long did it take? What did you think of your artist? How badly did it hurt?
I took in a picture and she worked from that picture. She traced the outline onto a transfer and then freehanded the shading. It took 3 hours total. I did it in two sessions a few weeks apart- first the outline then the shading.
I won't lie- it hurt like a motherfucker. I have two on my stomach and one on my back, and the two on my stomach weren't bad at all. The one right on my spine did hurt. I had two on my arms but had laser tattoo removal a few years ago- those weren't bad either.
Overall, if you have a high pain tolerance, it's an alrigth spot to get one done. It's also the biggest one I have, which may make me biased regarding the pain. I liked the artist. She's a little insane, but she does good work and charges a pretty standard rate ($100/hour). She's really nice, and is the kind of person who you could go talk to if you were thinking about getting something but had some questions. The place is called Blue Moons and is on the corner or Brownsboro and Mellwood.
thank you...and it hurt quite a bit! apparently that's one of those most painful spots to get one. it's probably better that i didn't know that until afterward!
