Table Mountain isn't all that flat!

So the wind finally died down, I found my hat, and a quick check through the binoculars revealed that the cable car up Table Mountain had finally opened again!
It was slightly overcast but we still had an amazing view over Table Bay, down to the mountains and then over to Cape Point. I've always wanted to go up there, I'm so pleased to have finally done it! I wouldn't recommend the cable car for anyone with claustrophobia or vertigo though, you're crammed in as you speed up the side of the mountain and you can't hold onto anything because the floor starts to revolve! It's a bit of an experience.

Last night a couple of us went out for dinner at the Waterfront which was pretty nice. Today it was pretty cloudy so we were forced(!) to go shopping. Being in Cape Town is a pretty good way to readjust to everything before I head home... like I'm getting used to the fact that there are really high buildings here and all the usual western things... but this trip to the mall still turned out to be a bit of a shock to the system. It was basically a huge mecca to shopping! We spent about four hours just walking around, getting slightly dizzy. In fact I feel a little tired out now, I think it may be time for a powernap...

xXx
