clex is clark and lex from smallville and astolat is someone who used to write really good sv fic and then didnt write any sv for a LONG TIME and who has just posted a 20,000 word fic \o/

I came in exactly at the mid-season mark ("Scarecrow"), after one Ms. cathybites came to spend the night and brought the first 10 eps with her, and we marathoned over calzones and candy. I think it was maybe halfway through the pilot before I turned to her and went, "...are you kidding?!" and that, as they say, was that. :)

It's been an occasionally bumpy ride, but no more or less so than any other fandom. And this one's got a lot of old friends I'd lost touch with and found again, and I got to drag some of my bestest friends into it with me, AND I've made some really great new ones. Best of all worlds!

and yeah. I mean. fandom is fandom, you know? its never gonna be complete smooth sailing. but. when you've got dean and sam backing you up, you're already better off than most *g*

it WAS the best thing ever omg! winchesters, an old pal, junk food, and did i mention winchesters? seriously, it took me abooooooooout half an episode to be absolutely ass over tea kettle.

and yeah, fandom is fandom is fandom. there's always gonna be drama and bullshit and baggage and etc., etc., but we've got WINCHESTERS. and the good far outweighs the bad, and at the end of the day that's what matters, right? right.

the first episode i saw was "bugs", which is the worst possible episode to start off with but prompted this comment. i was not hooked yet, but it laid the squee foundation.

then during a business trip to edmonton i was sitting around in my hotel room futzing with the few channels i did get and found a rerun of "phantom traveller", and the following exchange occured:

sam: ... are you humming metallica?
dean: IT CALMS ME.

which made me fall ass over tea kettle for the whole thing, and the rest is history.

i haven't felt this strongly about a show since BTVS--and it feels awwwwwwwwwwesome.

though, plotwise, yeah. maybe not the best. (oddly enough Phantom Traveller is one of my least favorite episodes, though Im not sure why. I should rewatch and see if I like it any better now.)

But yes! omg. I've never been like this over anything that's an active show ever. My fandoms are always closed canon, off the air things. And even with SV, its still on but I had to do a lot of catch up for it. But this!

The first ep I saw was a little bit of Asylum but I couldn't watch the whole thing because I think I had a paper to write or somesuch (I was stalling and channel surfing). And then a little later one of my GJ friend was talking about the show so I watched it again; I think the ep was Nightmares. Hooked after that. Just...yes. Dean's sarcasm and family love is so me it's not funny, and Sam's angst and inner battles kill me hardcore. I have issues with Papa (like I do with most older male figures...long story), but other then that, this is MY SHOW.

Winchesters=win! :D

oh, Nightmares is just - its SO awesome. I remember watching that on the couch and saying out loud, to NO ONE about halfway through "Wow. This is a REALLY GOOD episode." *g*
