Thanks for asking. Brace yourself: She had stage 3a cervical cancer, inoperable. She had pain sufficient for morphine 24/7, internal radiation, regular radiation, chemo. She had prayers of many people, she had charitable organizations' and persons' contributions. No trace of the cancer can be found. She has not spent one cent on her treatment. She is back at work. She is now a member of the local Episcopal church, whose vicar visited her many times. A woman at that church knitted her a prayer shawl, each stitch made with a prayer for her recovery. She wore it during every treatment and will now hardly be parted from it. Jeanine was an angry woman, hyper-liberal political, foul-mouthed, heavy drinker, estranged from family. She is now a different person and thanks God every day for her cancer.

That is good news indeed, and wonderfully far from what I had imagined might be the answer. That has cheered up my whole day. I am happy for you and for her.
