During the campaign, Obama folk said of anti-socialism folk that they make "a virtue out of selfishness." Typically, the McCain camp had no comeback except tired irrelevant sound-bytes.
Consider, please: If you check the figures on charitable giving, the Americans are the most unselfish people in the world. I don't remember the figures, but private Americans outgive any other people by far--an amazingly high figure. So much for "making selfishness a virtue." What we insist on is that government stay out of our conscience--that's called "freedom of conscience." And what that insistence has historically revealed is that less government makes people better--from the heart. Further, we insist that government should not make a virtue of theft--and that's what socialism does. Socialists love self-righteous posturing and finger-pointing, and as statistics show, are themselves incredibly stingy. According to his IRS return, Joe Biden's charitable giving was some 3,000 last year. That's pitiful. And millionaire Obama's aunt lives in the housing projects in Boston.
