Looking back on 2013 (fanfic edition)

Dec 22, 2013 14:00

This is mostly a note to myself, but if anyone other than me happens to read this -- Happy Holidays!

Putting this post together, I realized that I haven't crossposted any of the fic from this year on LJ. Hm. I guess it's partly me being lazy, and partly because it feels like a desert here on LJ these days, though that might be just me and my own inactivity. Oh, I've also been meaning to mention (for like a year or more…) that the anonymous LJ commenting is off. Not because I wanted to deprive people of the option but because of the unmanageable amount of spam I was getting. (Boo.)

Anyway, the point of this post is that this year, I've written:

When the Night Is Long (Inception, Arthur/Cobb, 1,128)

Lines and Shapes (The Avengers, Natasha/Steve, 756)

The Sky Above Her Grave (The Avengers, gen, 3,020)

Intern Senna and the Unexpected Sick Day (Welcome to Night Vale, gen, 2,465)

So, four fics, plus three chapters of Living Proof (Inception, Arthur/Eames). That's a total of 20,150 words, or thereabouts, which is about 3000 words less than last year (and like, 24,000 words less than 2011. Oops.) Considering how much time and energy RL has sucked out of me this year, I might have been happy with these numbers. I would be, if it wasn't for Living Proof. Three chapters in a year? Damn, I'm sorry about that. That's ridiculous, I know. Anyway, and at this point I don't know if this is good news or not, but the fic is past its half-way point, and I do still intend to finish it. Five or so chapters next year(?), and I'm golden! (Oh my god.)

Which is to say, apologies and holiday greetings all around, more fic and word counts to come next year. Hopefully. ♥
