Give me your favourite example. Preferably examples, where Giles is present. :-)

And yes, I need the ( Read more... )

The whole thing in the cruciamentum ep was her improvising.

Late season three I think she uses one of her #2 pencils to kill a newly risen vamp as she and Giles are studying for her SATs. And then claims since the pencil's broken that she can't study anymore.

You're welcome!

Ooh, didn't she use a cymbal like a frisbee in the Bronze to decapitate a vampire? It was in (I think) Welcome to the Hellmouth part 2.

I think you're right. Thanks.
We are currently watching S2 with the kids. What a great show. Well worth watching again.

Anyway, I ended up with this paragraph:

Giles tries to focus on the problem at hand. Improvisation isn’t his strong suit, but for seven years he’s watched Buffy stab vampires with pool cues, pencils, fences and sign posts in lieu of stakes; he’s watched her use rocket launchers and holy water, heard her order the buffybot into battle as a decoy; he’s even seen her turn a notorious vampire into an ally. These seven years have taught him one thing: in order to survive Slayers have to work with what fate puts their way. Surely, the same goes for Watchers.

How about when she used the surgical saw to cut off that vamp's head when Joyce was in the morgue?

eek. Yes, good example, but wrong vibe for the story. Still, thank you very much for the input.
It's good to remember these things.

The handbag with the cinderblock in it, used for bag fu in S7, "Lessons" -- although as I recall, it was Dawn who came up with that one.
