The engine is dead, making tiny clicking sounds as it cools in the frigid air, but on the driver’s side the headlight is still working. Diffuse light spills into the car, enough to make out a few details.

I love reading details like this. Great chapter. I like how Giles slowly takes inventory and the way his panic ebbs and flows. This is just getting better and better and I'm looking forward (patiently!) to finding out what happens next.

Thank you! It took me ages to cram all the detail I wanted into the chapter. I was worried it would end up bloated and slow. And I was worried that maybe Giles might come across as dithering or inconsistent. I'm glad it works for you.

Oh dear, it appears the "accident" wasn't actually an accident. Lovely build up of panic on the part of Giles who tries to keep his Watcher cool.

Ooo! How did I miss this chapter? There's been so much RL shit going on that I've only been online sporadically, and I somehow missed this! But, no worries because I saw your next chapter posted so now I have two to read at once!

I love this fic! Your descriptions of Giles' feelings and the settings are gorgeous, and you brought plot to the table! YAY! I am thriled to saw that I have no idea where this is going! - and that's a good thing.

I would give you more squee on this chapter, but I am greedy - and in too much of a hurry to read the next one.
