Was that Frank Langella I just saw in the
Kitchen Confidential trailer? Yay? Also, Nicholas Brendon as a cook. What's not to like? I just hope it's decently scripted. I love shows/movies about food and cooking, like Babette's Feast. Probably because I like food so much. Given the choice between good food and good sex I'd take good food any day. I kid you not. I am known to breathe little sighs of bliss when eating sushi or digging into a chateaubriand or when gobbling up fresh asparagus with sauce Hollandaise and smoked ham. Yum! That's why being poor sucks so much. I can no longer afford my favorite meals. It's asparagus season, but I can't really afford it. Bah. Guess what the kids always want to eat. Yes, pasta. I am pretty sick of pasta. I have always been a meat eating plant...
Oops, I got off on a tangent there, didn't I? Must be because I'm currently dieting. It's my annual fasting week. Sunday was the opening act with only a bit of fruit and uncooked veggies, today was the first fluids only day. Feeling slightly chilly, as usual, but otherwise I'm fine. Hubby and I do this regularly, following very specific instructions from our book on fasting, so don't worry, we're not doing anything excessively stupid. We think of it as resetting our bodies and appetites. Our eating habits tend to deteriorate over time, with more and more choccie and chips cropping up in our telly evenings. Fasting helps putting a stop to these cravings for a while.
Just watched Episode 11 of Doctor Who. Very fine television, even though the ending was a bit contrived. The actress who played 'Margarete' was pretty impressive IMHO. Not sure if I've seen her before, but she was definitely very capable. I am really enjoying the show. A friend lent me a dozen tapes of really really old Doctor Who epis. Some are even in black and white. Not sure how inclined I am to watch them...
So. Blind Justice got cancelled. Truthfully? I'm not surprised. But a little sad. I liked that show.
Oh, and TV Tome had a facelift. More adverts. Blah. And sloooow. I hope they get faster servers soon.
Work on Four Fear is progressing slowly, but it's progressing. Current word count is over 10.000 words. I got stalled pondering what kind of job Xander would have dreaded when he was 13. I should really learn to just hammer out the words and bother about the fine detail later. I lost my ability to write a fast first draft. I start tinkering before I even reach take-off velocity, and I have no idea how to remedy that.
PS: Is 4400 worth downloading?
