(no subject)
I wasn't dying to see 'The Last Samurai', but I went with my fella and it was enjoyable. I'm not the biggest Tom Cruise fan, but he did a solid job. It's hard to get over the fact that you look at the movie screen and think There's Tom Cruise! though. He's never really the character, he's always Tom Cruise playing the character. Hmmmm...just an observation.
The movie was exactly 'Dances with Wolves' set in Japan. I wonder if Tom realized this when he signed up to do the film? I wonder why huge movie stars cover the same ground over and over?
I'm not sure why I'm giving Tom such a hard time...especially since he did a really wonderful job--I guess I'm just a bitch like that. ; )
