Chainmail woo!

I made chainmail today during a work party for Ring and if my dad puts up a photo then I will post it. We watched a movie called "George and the Dragon", which is the legend of St George the Dragon-slayer cast into a less legendary and more human mould. It is cool, but was never released in the United States (it's a German movie actually but there's English sound).

So I learned how to make chainmail and was pretty fast about it, except I got a blister and had to stop. There was pizza and cookies and those who arrived early enough got soda. The conference room was really full!

I announced that I was going to make chainmail and Nick thought, at first, that by "chainmail" I meant "chain letters". Uh. This is Earth calling, crazy boy! *facepalm*

Michael made a noose out of one of my shoelaces. :D Also, he had this really impressive instant-hyper reaction when I mentioned the Voltaire song BRAINS! It was so funny. Also I remembered how pretty he is when he's not being anti-social at me, watching him concentrate on making chainmail. :)

I really need a "SWORDS!" icon. Can somebody make one for me? *pleading puppy-dog eyes*

Today I witnessed four singing valentines. One went to someone in my Latin class. The Shakespeare teacher got an anonymous one for which the song was "Sexual Healing" - it was hilarious. Then Griffin got the one I sent him: "Eight Days A Week". Also someone else in Shakespeare got one, with the stalker song, from an anonymous [I assume]. (Stalker song = "Every Breath You Take")

We learned about deponent, semi-deponent, and defective verbs in Latin. (They're just types of words with really weird form limits.) Also we learned different sorts of infinitives, which means I can now say "I want to be about to be insane" (Volo insaniturum esse). :P [Or, you know, the negation of that.]

Today in Shakespeare all we did was watch Much Ado About Nothing - the version with Denzel Washington being awesome, Kenneth Branagh being intentionally hilarious, and Keanu Reeves being unintentionally hilarious every time he appears on screen (including the gratuitously shirtless scene O.ô). There are two watchmen or something that I'm convinced are in some sort of screwed-up relationship - one is always following the other, touching his arm or shoulder if possible, and literally looking over his shoulder from behind whenever they stand still, except when he's in a headlock...

Today was a happy day. I biked properly fast for the first time in weeks (I was also listening to La Vie Boheme), and it was so delightful. I also biked to Pioneer, then got a ride home from Christy. :D

I think I have to go do homework now. Ta-ta.

cool stuff, ros, the pretty one, latin, school
