This thing confuses me. I suspect it is Art. ALSO! Neil Gaiman has officially begun another book!
See? Despite my well-meaning act of bringing a journal, I did not use it; therefore this is all from memory.
Friday: School. Home. Packed. LONG car ride in evil bus with no leg room and right-angle seat backs. Had a person on my lap for some of the trip. Ate Burger King. Arrived at the cabin quite late; watched The Girl In The Fireplace (Doctor Who) before falling asleep.
Saturday: Woke up tired. Bagels for breakfast. Thence to Nub's Nob for downhill skiing. Remembered exactly why I despise ski boots. Pants did not fit over boots, so tucked them inside; ankles still bruised. Only did green slopes, got very cold and tired.
While in the bathroom, was asked by a little girl "Are you a boy?" I can only imagine her thought process went thusly: This person is in the girls' bathroom. Only girls go in the girls' bathroom. Therefore she is a girl. This person has short hair. Girls only have long hair. Therefore he is a boy. I actually heard the kid talking to her mom later and pronoun-swapping. It was highly amusing. :D
We started planning the Senior High service - it was, after all, a church trip.
Watched School Reunion (Doctor Who again) before sleep.
Sunday: In a small group of people who were either not skiing, cross-country skiing, or needed asthma medicine from Walgreens. Bought old Valentine's Day candy with Josiah (75% off!). Went c-c skiing. We were out there for around an hour, and I wound up thoroughly exhausted. Actually I had a pretty spectacular fall: My feet slipped forward; I fell back; my shoulder hit the ground and bounced up, then my head snapped back and I fell into a slightly-dazed heap on the ground. Then Austin and I went back to the lodge, where I spent most of the remaining time eating, being annoyed with Michelle, or watching Mike [one of the advisers] play World of Warcraft.
Found an old Marvel comic book in the cabin's bookshelf - Chamber of Darkness I think? Issue 2 or 3. Probably 2; had letters about issue 1, but not sure how the timing on that would've worked.
That night we had another service-planning meeting and worship. We attempted to wake Michelle and were met with resounding failure - she's scary when she's trying to sleep. O.o
No curfew. Up until 2-something chatting, eating candy, and watching Paul fail at some N64 Mario game.
Monday: Packed up and left two hours early. Got upset over having to be in he bus again; some people gave up their spots on the van when I was least expecting it, which made me happy. Lunch at Subway. Much of the trip was spent listening to Emma's iPod over the radio - my Zen has a radio receiver, so I could actually hear it. :P Mostly Disney music; also some Tally Hall and bands I don't actually know. Sang closing song in parking lot of church. Gave Josiah a ride home. Apart from a brief food break, have been on computer basically non-stop since around 5. Now must go read webcomics. :D
Miscellaneous: The cabin had a copy of America (The Book). It was the sort of humour I get tired of quickly, but still amusing.
