Dear Yuletide Author,
Here is what I have to say about my requests so far (that is, this may be updated):
Thick As A Brick - Jethro Tull: This is an album-length song. Yes, it is 44 minutes long or thereabouts. It can be found
here (
lyrics). Basically, I find it fascinating because it makes no goddamn sense. If you, Yuletide Author, could find a way to tie all of it together, I would be happy.
The Sandman: I requested Hob Gadling because quite frankly he is my favorite Sandman character and one of my favorite characters of all time and as soon as I saw his name in the character list I knew I wanted Gadling genfic. There can be romance, but I would rather it not be the focus, and rather it not be explicit. I would also rather it not be Hob/Dream slash, because what I actually want to see is what he did in the years between meetings with Dream, particularly those years we never get to hear about. I'd rather it not be grimdark. Note: I am familiar with the whole series, so you cain't spoil me. If you can make a plotty holiday story, that would be wonderful. If you can come up with some kind of not-contrived-seeming crossover (like, any other DC/Vertigo characters don't really count as crossovers in my mind), that's cool too!
Some ideas: How does he adapt to technology when it goes so fast and furious in the 20th century? What's he been doing during the 20th century? Does he learn how to fake an identity in the 21st century before people notice he never gets older? Does he make any awful screw-ups that lead to adventure or hilarity fixing them?
Mirrormask: Valentine has a tower. They aren't speaking until he finally apologizes. HOW DID THAT WORK.
