I think I might have an Internet problem. When I am not on the internet, I want to be on the internet. When I am on the internet, I tend to stay on the internet.
So far it's a fairly mild problem, but I suspect that to keep it well under control I should try to get into the habit of only using the internet for a limited amount of time every day (for non-school things). The idea is that when I limit my exposure to things with which I am saturated, I tend to enjoy them less.
The coping strategy which immediately suggests itself is to give myself some kind of reward if I stay within my internet time. The problem is, what to reward myself with?
Using food items (or other purchasey things) as a reward is problematic for (mostly) monetary reasons.
I can't really use video games or other games as a reward, because I don't enjoy them enough.
Using more internet time as a reward is self-defeating.
Using something I should be doing anyway as a reward (like practicing bodhran, which eek i haven't practiced in so long) won't really motivate me.
Anything involving other people depends on their cooperation and so doesn't really work.
So what do I doooo?
