My brain is melting!

Of course, it's possible that my brain's always melting...

3. Londonstani - Gautam Malkani

Another book for school. This was written phonetically, like Trainspotting, A Clockwork Orange and Push. In fact, it was very similar to those first two novels, perhaps more so A Clockwork Orange, as both dealt with lost English youths looking to gangs for guidance. It certainly wasn't on the same intellectual level (says the undergrad in her first year of University as though she knows what she's talking about), but I did find it interesting. My biggest problem with this novel was how most of the second half stepped away from all these interesting social issues about race and tradition, and instead just tried to become a silly crime novel. Honestly, a scene near the end which was supposed to be suspenseful and whatnot just made me laugh at how stupid it was. I think it would be a good novel for kids in high school to read though... but then again, maybe high schools should just make kids read A Clockwork Orange.

Oh! My arm's mostly healed. The great thing about eczema is it's one of the few problems in life where if you ignore it, it will go away.

Went to my first Rabbie Burns dinner tonight, it was fun, many kilts, bagpipes and haggis were had by all. I hope I get invented to another one next year.

P.S. Remember how awesome Polly Pocket *used* to be?
