Oh, ouch! Way to make John feel like he's the backup plan and should still fall into your arms, Rodney!

I really like that John *didn't* fall into his arms - that he's got more self-respect than to do that. I can totally see Rodney being exactly arrogant and clueless enough to tink that would work though

his brain gets ahead of him sometimes, I think. it's all very logical!

[Is this where I confess this is based on a True Story? I didn't fall into his arms, either, although after he groveled for a while I did sleep with him eventually. :)))]

Yes, this does leave a bitter aftertaste. I'll go read some sweet fluff now.

I did give fair warning! hope you found something lovely and squishy.

yeah, I'm afraid I kind of got glutted on stories where John leaps into Rodney's arms three seconds after the Big Break-Up, and I always wondered where Reality went.

(edited for spoilrs)

I can understand that reaction. While I can read and enjoy the 'yay, you're free, let's go make like crazed bunnies' most days, I really prefer something where they both have to work at making it work.

Yes, I just found some sweet stuff (early seasons) to brighten my day back up a bit. I also appreciate the light you flashed at the end of the tunnel. :-D

He always had his fall-back plan, anyway.

Oh, Rodney, please don't tell me that means what I think it means.

...

Oh wait, it totally did. That is cold, treating another human being, a friend like that.

But at least this gave John some much-needed closure. Maybe he can move on now.

well, everybody's selfish in the end, I suppose. I think Rodney's motivations are a little more complex, though. *cough*

(did you manage to get your hair to look as good after the first shampooing? I always hate it how great my cut looks in the shop and then I go home and I can never get it to look the same.)

I haven't tried making it look the same yet. I do have some product at home, and I paid attention to what the hairdresser was doing with my hair, so hopefully I can mimic it. I'll report back to you when/if I succeed. ;)

OMG *knocks their heads together*

Ok.

Ok.

I get John (I do!) and 'Hard to get and maybe not at all' is the way to go here. Rodney needs some serious practice at wooing anyway. Once he gets his foot out of his mouth.

I wonder if secretly Zelenka is like, the Master of Woo, and Rodney doesn't know it. Radek probably has a private harem. :)))) Rodney could def. use some pointers.

thanks, trystings.

Yeah...that felt so real. God love him, but Rodney doesn't always think through the emotional implications of his choices. I have a feeling that if he wants John, he's going to have to convince John he's a first choice.
