So probably I don't even need to tell you that crysothemis has posted the most delightful new story called Funny Little Secret (NC-17 for sex) that just made my evening after a really ugly day at work, but just in case you missed it, it's there waiting for you. Go! Read! Grin foolishly like I did.

Also, there is a fascinating discussion going on about the Stories We Tell hosted by sheafrotherdon and an anonymous sga_santa writer that bears reading. As writers we have a responsibility when exploring historical AUs to research and hopefully preserve as best we can the historical cultures we use as backdrops in our stories; often we are the only source of information people will ever have for these areas and periods in history.

And aren't real cultures and their histories infinitely more layered and diverse than anything my tiny mind can come up with anyway? ~:
